This species is very similar to
<taxonomicName family="Cyperaceae" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="C. flavosignatus" order="Coleoptera" pageId="0" pageNumber="1" rank="species" species="flavosignatus">
<emphasis italics="true" pageId="0" pageNumber="1">C. flavosignatus</emphasis>
</taxonomicName>
but smaller and with a slightly different shape of the apex of the median lobe of aedeagus in lateral view. The Malagasy species of
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Noteridae" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="" order="Coleoptera" pageId="0" pageNumber="1" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="family">Noteridae</taxonomicName>
are in great need of revision, and in the current state of knowledge we cannot assign a name to this species.

<paragraph pageId="0" pageNumber="1">Distribution.</paragraph>
<paragraph pageId="0" pageNumber="1">Madagascar. In addition to the specimens from the Makay, we also have specimens from Namoroka (north-eastern part of the island).</paragraph>

<paragraph pageId="0" pageNumber="1">Habitat in study area.</paragraph>
<paragraph pageId="0" pageNumber="1">Species collected in permanent lentic environments in open peripheral sites, with clay bottom, clear water and presence of vegetation. One of the collecting sites was a rice field.</paragraph>
