<paragraph id="88959CA1DF2C11CE7AF935B24DC66166" pageId="18" pageNumber="18">Worker. Length 6 lines.-Opake-black, with the flagellum and two apical joints of the tarsi ferruginous: head large, much wider than the thorax, deeply emarginate behind; the clypeus with a central longitudinal carina, which is produced, and forms a small tooth in the middle of the anterior margin, which is straight. The head and thorax are delicately shagreened, the latter elongate and compressed posteriorly; legs elongate, smooth and shining, destitute of pubescence, or with a few short ferruginous hairs on the tibiae at their apex beneath, and also a few on the tarsi. Abdomen ovate; the scale of the peduncle incrassate, narrow, rounded in front, and flat and perpendicular behind, its margin slightly notched above.</paragraph>
