has only young inflorescences in bud and is known only from cultivation on a quite different island, we designate an epitype with open flowers. This littoral species can be characterized by its very congested inflorescences and the pseudoverticillate, anisophyllous, and sparsely lepidote-pubescent leaves with an entire margin.
