The members of this genus can be recognized from all genera of

occurring east of

by having only six eyes (although rarely vestiges of AME are present, see

Currently eight species are considered in the genus, distributed in

(one species) and from
<collectingCountry id="F3587653EB35FFDEE8EF66BCFF65FB85" box="[151,218,1005,1031]" name="Egypt" pageId="5" pageNumber="428">Egypt</collectingCountry>
to
<collectingCountry id="F3587653EB35FFDEE88566BDFE24FB84" box="[253,411,1004,1030]" name="Turkmenistan" pageId="5" pageNumber="428">Turkmenistan</collectingCountry>
. Three of the easternmost species are known only from females, while the westernmost one is known only from the
<typeStatus id="54F48861EB35FFDEE9D96141FDBCFBA8" box="[417,515,1040,1066]" pageId="5" pageNumber="428" type="holotype">holotype</typeStatus>
male. Considering the shape of the epigynes, species occurring in

,

seem to be misplaced, albeit being similar in habitus to those known from Africa,
