In each case, multiple characters are provided to distinguish between species and should be considered in combination. Considering all diagnostic characters presented, the key is tentatively considered valid for both juveniles and adults, although the majority of specimens examined were adults. All characters can be measured or observed in the field. This key is most accurate for freshly caught individuals or those fixed in 10 % formalin, as ethanol-fixed specimens may be affected by shrinkage.</paragraph>
