The pupa, with continuous hook row and conjunctival spinule bands on II, IV and V, is unlike any taxon in the zeylandica grouping from

. The conjunctive of V has a sparse, perhaps narrowly medially-divided band of spinules, well separated from posterior tergal spinules and weaker than in possibly conspecific Australian specimens, all of which have a denser band on V. The absence of taeniae on the lateral segment V is unique in the genus, and led to early inability to recognise the pupal exuviae as belonging to
<emphasis id="09EA6C149B221E7DC5A7FB01FBAC34CA" box="[956,1029,1233,1259]" italics="true" pageId="29" pageNumber="490">Rietha</emphasis>
due to (0), 4, 4, 5 pattern of taeniate LS.
