This species can be identified from the following combination of characters: postocellar carina absent; rugose sculpturing absent on head; pronotum not enlarged (pronotum shorter than the mesoscutum along the midline); median mesoscutal sulcus present and complete (median mesoscutal sulcus posterior end adjacent to the transscutal articulation); and sternaulus absent. This species also has unique coloration, with the cranium being light brown to black in color and darker than the mesosoma, which is yellow to light brown. Females can be matched to males by the characters above, as well as by their unique coloration.
