The following combination of characters distinguishes species of the

: Modest-sized, wing length 3.95.4mm. Arista relatively thick at base, yet longest pubescence of arista same length as or longer than its greatest basal diameter. Proboscis short but slender: haustellum barely thicker than fore tibia, prementum decidedly shorter than fore tarsomere 1 and labella small. Eye bare. Male with shortest distance between eyes less than distance between outer margins of posterior ocelli. Female frontal vitta with a pair of crossed setae. Parafacial on upper, broadest part barely exceeding width of postpedicel. Facial edge not or only just projecting in front of fronto-parafacial angle. Face without a distinct interantennal convexity or crest. Notopleuron, besides two setae, with several setulae in male and with 02 setulae in female. Dorsocentral setae 2 + 3. Anepimeron and katepimeron without setulae. Fore tarsus, especially in female, with ventral setulae and sensilla notably long and outstanding. Male fore tarsomere 1 without pointed apico-ventral process.
