. The genus is characterised by having perithecial ascomata, octosporous asci with an apical ring, hyaline, bicellular ascospores with or without gelatinous appendages and acervular conidiomata with brown conidia with gelatinous sheaths and with verruculous inner surface of the conidal wall (
