Members of the

are large butterflies. The swallowtails are aptly named, given the presence of prominent tails on their hindwings. Th e wings do not have androconial scales, and the hindwing has one anal vein. Th e foreleg tibia has an epiphysis. Th e larvae are often brightly colored, and they utilize a variety of food plants.
