Head—body 115-135-5 mm, tail 9-5-13 mm, hindfoot 15-16 mm; weight 47-8-61-9 g. Tail of Klosss Mole is 7-11:3% of head-body length. Fur is short, very dense, and velvety; it is slate black, washed with brown, and similar above and beneath; and hairs have dark grayish brown bases. Tail is as long as hindfoot. Skull is slender; braincase is narrow and circular in ventral view. Rostrum is conical, narrow, and low. Dental formula is 13/3, C 1/1, P 4/4, M 3/3 (x2) = 44. Length of pelvis is 23-1 mm. There are nine tail vertebrae. Chromosomal complement has 2n = 36 and FNa = 54.
