The specimen in

may be a different species than the
<typeStatus>holotype</typeStatus>
figured by Kay (1979, fig. 48L, M). The
<typeStatus>holotype</typeStatus>
has large flat spiral cords (a character also included in the original description) and the interspaces are smaller than the cords. In contrast, the
<collectionCode collectionName="NHMUK" country="United Kingdom" httpUri="http://biocol.org/urn:lsid:biocol.org:col:34665" name="Natural History Museum, London" type="Museum">NHMUK</collectionCode>
specimen has thin spiral cords with ample interspaces. Unfortunately,
<normalizedToken originalValue="Kays">Kay's</normalizedToken>
illustration of the teleoconch is blurred, and the
<collectionCode collectionName="NHMUK" country="United Kingdom" httpUri="http://biocol.org/urn:lsid:biocol.org:col:34665" name="Natural History Museum, London" type="Museum">NHMUK</collectionCode>
specimen is worn and lacks the apex, which would have offered additional diagnostic characters for observation.
