(see material examined section above). At Bense Marsh, specimens were collected from sodden ground with small pools of water below a wooden walkway over the marsh. Water chemistry data at time of collecting was as follows: pH 5.24, conductivity 27.5 μS/cm, temperature 20.1 ºC. The Higashidori site consisted of a small boggy area covered in a thick growth of reeds, and surrounded by trees. At time of collecting, there was very little standing water, although the ground was sodden and mossy. A small, shallow hole was made in the sodden ground in order to sample the water. Water chemistry data at time of collecting was as follows: pH 5.98, conductivity 24.1 μS/cm, temperature 16.9 ºC.
