The specific name
<emphasis id="D39FF8CD829F7351EDED419A035C1BFD" italics="true" pageId="0" pageNumber="39">heliakosus</emphasis>
is derived from the Greek word
<emphasis id="BD8A8B8E523B38CC81EF4D4AF6BC8344" italics="true" pageId="0" pageNumber="39">heliakos</emphasis>
meaning of the sun. It honors our colleague, Dr. Arthit Pholyotha, who collected the specimens and took the photos of the living snails used in this study. His first name Arthit means the Sun.
