is the largest genus of stony corals with 113 species in

and 170 species in Veron, 2000. Of Wallaces 113, 73 species are found in southeast Asia. Only 13 species are found to be endemic to certain areas of the Indo-Pacific while the rest are widespread from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean (
