Until recently this species was reported only from

by Den Heyer (1979). The range expansion presented here, combined with Castro (2008) who reported it from
<collectingCountry id="48A631C7FD5BF314EA5BFE83FBC3FE50" box="[1036,1107,370,394]" name="Brazil" pageId="30" pageNumber="31">Brazil</collectingCountry>
, suggest it may have a much wider, possibly cosmopolitan, range. Den Heyer (1979) provides an abundance of illustrations and SEM images.
