Body size 25 × 15 μm in protargol preparations; body broadly ellipsoidal with blunt end of ventral side; rigid. Macronuclear nodule spherical to elliptical, positioned at mid­body. Contractile vacuole at 2/3 of body length. Cytoplasm colorless. Usually 10 somatic and 3 preoral kineties. Extrusomes fusiform.
