LeConte, 1853c: 400. Type locality: &quot;Sacramento [Sacramento County], California&quot; (original citation). Holotype [by monotypy] location unknown. Etymology. The specific name honors Simon Snyder Rathvon [1812-1891], an entomologist interested chiefly in the economic aspect of insects who resided most of his life in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Rathvon bought
