This species is distinguished by the wing pattern, a distinctive pattern of orange and dark brown. In dorsal view, the brown patches on the posteromesal area are heart­shaped, and thus the name of this species. The abdominal coremata are short, broad, and single­lobed (

). The female specimen is teneral, so I was only able to measure wing length for the single male. The preanal appendages of this specimen are broken, but appear to be similar to those of
