An antlion is widespread in Africa (Mansell, pers. com;

), particularly in south-eastern part of Africa, from Tanzania to South Africa (Mozambique included) according to

, this taxa was reported in Kenya, Tanzania and Namibia; recently this species has been reported also in a generical forestry coastal area of North-eastern Mozambique (

). Nevertheless I was able to find in literature only some specimens cited for a precise locality (in the Illustrated database of African
<taxonomicName lsidName="Neuropterida" order="Neuroptera" pageId="0" pageNumber="1050" rank="order">Neuroptera</taxonomicName>
(http://www.africamuseum.be/collections/browsecollections/naturalsciences/biology/neuroptera/collection), 37 localities are reported, mostly from South Africa and a very few from Somalia): the present female specimen is the first cited for a precise locality in Mozambique.
