Cave, one mile southwest of Bedford, Lawrence Co[unty], Ind[iana]&quot; (original citation). Holotype (♂) in FMNH. Etymology. The specific name honors Professor Alfred Edward Emerson [1896-1976] of the University of Chicago who worked on the systematics, phylogeny, distribution, and natural history of termites. His collection of more than one million specimens was given to the American Museum of Natural History.
