It can be distinguished from all other species by the distinctive color of its thorax (without any brown dorsally, cream, with a black line anteriorly, patagia dark brown) and its narrow forewings, which show numerous fine lines and strigulae, and three distinctly wider transverse lines, one just before the middle and two which form a Y-shaped mark near the termen. The hindwings are mottled light to dark grey; the thick bipectinate antennae are dark brown.
