The species was recorded at a small fragment of quartzitic outcrop south of the Serra do Padre Ângelo, near the district of Vista Alegre (municipality of Alvarenga) and at the Environmental Protection Area Pedra do Paredão, a granitic massif in the municipality of Santa Rita do Itueto.
