The name of this species is derived from the spines on the aedeagus.
<emphasis id="93E0EACAFFECFFFE38D8FF6EAE0B9C23" bold="true" box="[197,318,231,257]" pageId="7" pageNumber="8">Remarks.</emphasis>
This species can be distinguished from all other species of the genus by its unique aedeagus which is very broad subbasally in both lateral and ventral view with several lateral spines on the shaft (
