Thallus corticolous, crustose, olive-green in the field and khaki after drying, surface dull, corticate with pseudocyphellae, UV-. Apothecia emergent, dispersed, conical,
<quantity id="5AF38D9CA8413318F2AF10CBF2759F2E" metricMagnitude="-4" metricUnit="m" metricValue="9.0" metricValueMax="12.0" metricValueMin="6.0" unit="mm" value="0.8999999999999999" valueMax="1.2" valueMin="0.6">0.61.2 mm</quantity>
diam., the sides often partly covered by the thallus, with crystals. Excipulum completely carbonized when mature and falls apart when over-mature. Ostioles apical, white or brown. Hamathecium not inspersed, IKI + red. Ascospores 4 per ascus, uniseriate, fusiform, with pointed or blunt ends, 70100 ( 106) × (17 ) 2127 ( 41) μm, hyaline to brown, muriform, with c. 1012 × 314 locules, lumina rounded, old spores containing globules of red oily substance.
