). However, they do not fit the criterion of bearing a single label in common. Each sheet has its own label, and they are not identical. One, the lectotype, has a precise collecting date and the locality name of Ambanivoules, whereas the other sheet (G00446337) does not, and the written field description of the plants differs between the two. Also, the lectotype has mainly pistillate flowers open whereas the other syntype has only staminate flowers open. This leads us to conclude that the two sheets are actually different gatherings, even though both were annotated in Baillon's hand as "

Ambanivoules were an ethnic group of eastern Madagascar located approximately 80-100 km west of Tamatave, their name derived from the Malagasy
