|
||

Small, elongate, subcylindrical, flattened above, transversely convex below; with various color, punctation and vestiture. Head with frontovertex strongly excavated between eyes; one pair of small, flattened lobes slightly produced and projecting anteriorly beyond outline of eyes; eyes of moderate size, inner margins diverging dorsally; circumocular groove extends from dorsal midpoint around inner margin to well beyond ventral midpoint; one pair of short transverse grooves above antennal cavities; frontoclypeus strongly narrowed between antennae; gena depressed beneath eyes for reception of basal antennameres in repose, genal tooth obtuse Antennae with antennamere 2 longer, more globose than 3, 4 taken together; 510 short, serrate, each wider than long; 11 oblong. Pronotum strongly gibbose anteriomedially, disk otherwise depressed, explanate to lateral and posterior margins; anterior margin moderately convex medially; lateral margins carinate, widest just posterior to midpoint, lateroposterior angle obtuse. Scutellum subtriangular, length subequal to width, lateral margins feebly concave. Elytra narrowed laterally exposing narrow lateral area of abdomen; with large basal depressions between humeri and suture; margin finely serrate; apices narrowly, separately rounded; pygidium with medial longitudinal carina, but without projecting tooth or spine. Prosternum with feeble, bisinuate mentonniere; metacoxal plate with posterior margin evenly transverse; legs without abnormal modifications, hind femora with short setal comb on distal half of length; tarsal claws strongly appendiculate.</paragraph>

Remarks. This monotypic genus is distinct from all described coraebine genera from

||
and the Afrotropical region; this is discussed below.
