wingspan) moths, usually with metallic greenish forewings with white and silver marks. Adults of most species are diurnal. Larvae of most species are stem borers or leafminers in monocots; a few feed on dicots.

A total of 384 species of glyphipterigids are known worldwide, primarily from the tropics. Forty species are known in North America, and four of these have been reported from AB.
