The epithet comes from Spanish (“ma” = “mom”), in honor of Esperanza Jiménez Suárez, good friend and author’s mother, for her friendship, guidance, help, and continued support during the author’s studies and research on Neotropical and Colombian salticids, and main financial supporter of the author’s long collecting trips, including some of this research.
