Material examined. St. DV 78, slope of the Pallada Guyot , East Mariana Basin , 155.199°E , 15.9076°N , depth 2280 m , associated with unknown coral, coll. Dr. Bo Lu in Jiaolong manned submersible, R/ V Xiangyanghong 9, 21 July 2014, 1 male (PCL 8.4 mm ). Coloration. Entirely white. Habitat. In present study, commensal with unknown coral; Guyot slope. Distribution. Western Pacific: Okinawa Through, East Mariana Basin; East Pacific: Gulf of Panama , off Mazatlan and off San Quintin, Baja California , off Ecuador , off Oregon ; Atlantic Ocean: offshore of Delaware Bay, off New England and Middle Atlantic Bight, Bay of Biscay, off Ireland ; Indian Ocean: west of Sri Lanka ; depths of 1900–4260 m . Remarks. The present specimen has the mesial eyespines directed forward and weakly anterolaterally, corresponding well with the descriptions and figures from Macpherson & Segonzac (2005) and Osawa & Takeda (2007) . The submedian spines on the carapace are arranged 2, 1, 2, 1, 2, 1 on the epigastric, protogastric, mesogastric, anterior cardiac, posterior cardiac, and intestinal regions, respectiVely. The posterior carapace marginal ridge is armed with 5 spines. The present specimen differs slightly from preVious reports in lacking a distodorsal spine on the article 3 of antennal peduncle, which maybe an intraspecific character. The present species was obserVed for the first time associated with a cnidarian species ( Fig. 5A ).
