Verified data come from Democratic Republic of the Congo , Gabon , Ghana and Kenya . According to the literature known also from Cameroon , Central African Republic , Guinea , Nigeria , Tanzania and Uganda . Recorded from Ghana for the first time by Przybyłowicz & Kühne (2008) without any details. Remarks. The two females examined are similar in size (forewing length 15 mm ) but smaller than the female holotype (forewing length 17 mm ) of Metarctia haematosphages Holland , 1893 which is synonymized with M. haematica by Przybyłowicz & Kühne (2008) . Female genitalia are characterized by elongate and narrow ductus bursae which are sclerotized proximally ( Fig. 3 H) (gs - S131, ISEA).
