Diagnosis
.
Mayatyphlus carltoni
is the only known species of the genus
Mayatyphlus
. If any additional species of
Mayatyphlus
are ever discovered,
M. carltoni
could be distinguished by the shape of the aedeagus, especially the apex of the median lobe (
Figs. 1315
), and by the shape of the female accessory sclerites (
Fig. 17
).
Description.
Length

Head with short setae arranged as in
Figs. 12
. Second and third antennal articles as long as wide and twice as wide as article 3, articles 39 strongly transverse, 1.62.0 times as wide as long, article 10 1.5 times as wide as long, last article as long as wide (

Natural History.
Mayatyphlus carltoni
presumably inhabits soil and/or leaf litter, and was collected using Berlese funnels.
