Hydroporus bodemeyeri
sensu lato
Material examined.
Turkey
:
one male
,
Erzurum
[recently
Bayburt prov.
], east of
Bayburt
,
Çoruh
[= Chorokhi river],
1 June 1989
,
M.A. Jäch
leg. (
NHMW
)
;
one female
, south of
Tatvan
[
Bitlis prov.
],
1700–2000 m
(
NHMW
)
.
Remarks.
A teneral male from
Bayburt province
and a female from
Van province
, whose identification was not possible using genital characters, were included in the geometric morphometric analysis to clarify their taxonomic status. The analysis reveals that they clearly belong to
H. bodemeyeri
, their subspecific status, however, remains unclear. As these specimens are the only ones available from localities in eastern
Turkey
, far from the current known distribution of
H. bodemeyeri
(see
Figure 5
), we do not assign them to subspecies here.
