Material Examined. Holotype female, (coll. no. S0 35 ) and paratype female (coll. no. S035b), CHINA , Hainan Is. Panja Town, Songtao Reservoir, 0 3 April 2011 , AT Barrion, JLA Catindig and SC Villareal. Diagnostic Features. Cicynethus hongfuchui Barrion, Barrion-Dupo & Heong new species closely resembles the appearance of C. floriumfontis Jocque 1991 from Cape Province, South Africa but easily distinguished from the latter in the ( 1 ) uniformly yellow legs without dark stripes, ( 2 ) abdomen with a dorsal median and dark brown bands, ( 3 ) simple epigynum, ( 4 ) AME> ALE, ( 5 ) scopulae on ventral tip of tibiae I-IV and entire venter of tarsi I-IV, ( 6 ) four pairs of short ventral spines on metatarsus I, three pairs on metatarsi II and two pairs each on metatarsi III and IV, ( 7 ) metatarsus IV as long as metatarsus I, and ( 8 ) the relatively large posterior spinnerets. Etymology. Patronym, in honor of Prof. Chu Hongfu in recognition of his outstanding works on the systematics of Chinese Noctuidae ( Lepidoptera ).
