Generic characters.
Adult (
Fig. 1a
): Head rounded. Labial palpus with second segment slightly thick, third segment slender, a little longer than second segment. Forewing with costal margin almost straight or slightly arched, apex produced triangularly; ground colour usually yellowish brown, with variously shaped large black markings; R3 and R4+5 stalked basally, R5 to apex, M2 and M3 close to each other or arising from same point, CuA l and CuA2 stalked at basal 5/6 length. Hindwing with R5 and M1 stalked basally, M2 absent, M3 and CuA1 stalked for a short distance (

c). Abdominal tergites with spinules.
Male genitalia (

b): Uncus broad at base, narrowed to apex. Gnathos sharply narrowed and hooked distally. Valva broad basally, cucullus subtriangular, upturned. Juxta nearly square, paired caudal lobes digitate or clavate or indistinct. Sacculus sometimes weak. Vinculum narrowly banded. Aedeagus with a cornutus, or cornuti of numerous spines.
Female genitalia: Apophyses posteriores usually longer than apophyses anteriores. Antrum inconspicuous or weakly sclerotized. Ductus bursae longer than corpus bursae, more or less curved, ductus seminalis helical. Corpus bursae rounded or oval, signum with teeth.
Diagnosis.
Deltoplastis
Meyrick
is superficially similar to
Torodora
Meyrick, 1894
. It can be distinguished from the latter by the absence of M
2 in
the hindwing, which is present in
Torodora
.
