The animals described and depicted by Lewinsohn (1969) as P. carinipes correspond to P. m i l i - taris (Heller), a similar species, which had not been previously reported for the Red Sea. Lewinsohn (1974) corrected this error and provided a new detailed description of P. carinipes . Distribution . Western Indian Ocean, including the Red Sea. In the western Pacific from the Ryukyu, Ogasawara, and Mariana Islands .
