Lectotype (♀), designated by Dahl (1941: 189), in AMNH [# 1226]. Synonymy established by Spanton (1988: 123). Etymology. The subspecific name was proposed in honor of Ernest J. Oslar [1858-1944], a resident of Denver who had an interest in Colorado

This subspecies, the
"Laurent's
Long-lipped Tiger Beetle", ranges from north-central Montana to western South Dakota, south to central New Mexico, central Arizona, and southern Nevada [see Spanton 1988: Fig. 39].
