Samin et al. (2011b : 141) erroneously misinterpreted Puthz (1972a : 125, 1972b : 280), who mentioned " Stenus cordatoides variant A" from Esfahan Province, which the same author later described as Stenus turk (Puthz 1972: 178). Therefore the Pontomediterranean Stenus cordatoides , which is distributed in the Balkans, Turkey, and the Levant, does not belong to the Iranian fauna. Schuelke and Smetana (2015 : 813) do not cite the species for Iran.
