REMARKS: Swinderen’s descriptive word for the genus-group name as “Angstige” [= anxious; quivering] can be considered a behavioral trait and thus makes the generic name available. Additionally, the only included species (
glabra
) is determined here as
Madiza glabra
Fallén, 1820
[since it is the only species of acalyptrate flies with the specific name
glabra
that was described at that time], which can be unambiguously assigned to a nominal speciesgroup taxon makes the genus name available (Code Art. 12.2.5).
