A rare benthic species found in lakes in spring (S7, S21) and autumn (A9, A14, A34). L. ciliata occurs in waterbodies with clay or muddy bottom (Sinev et al . 2015). The species is distributed in the Paleotropics; was previously recorded in Hunan as L. acanthocercoides (Fischer, 1854) . For a detailed description see Kotov et al. (2003) .
