Remarks.
The species is widespread throughout West and Central Africa (
Beinhundner 2017b
;
Schoolmeesters 2019
;
Serrano
et al
. 2020
). There are several formally described subspecies in this taxon, probably some of them without taxonomic value (
14 in
Beinhundner 2017b
;
12 in
Schoolmeesters 2019
). The larva of the third instar of
C
.
africana africana
was described by
Kühbander & Carl (1994)
. The species is syntopic with
Chondrorrhina abbreviata
(Fabricius, 1792)
in Béli locality. Ecological data were provided by
Holm & Marais (1992)
for
C. africana subsuturalis
(Kraatz, 1891)
. It is a new species record for GAB Administrative Region of
Guinea-Bissau
.
