Description – Measurements (in mm, n=5): HW = 0.60 (0.58–0.61); TW = 0.57 (0.56–0.59); PW = 0.82 (0.80–0.85); EW = 0.94 (0.92–0.96); AW = 0.92 (0.91–0.93); HL = 0.43 (0.42–0.44); EL = 0.14 (0.13–0.15); TL = 0.18 (0.17–0.19); PL = 0.51 (0.50–0.52); SC = 0.60 (0.59–0.61); FB = 1.61 (1.58–1.63); BL = 3.05 (2.91–3.25). HabitusasinFig. 73 . Forebodyweaklyshiningdespite sculpture, abdomenwithpuncturesofvaryingsizes, ratherdensebutshallow, indistinctly microsculptured, yetmorelustrousthanforebody. Headblackishdarkbrown, pronotum, elyraandabdomenreddishdarkbrown, occasionallylighter, mediumbrownstripealong posteriorelytralmargin, lateralpronotalmarginandanteriormarginofhead. Legs, mouthpartsandantennaereddishmediumbrown. Headwithanteriormarginpossessingrather strongrim, almosttruncateinfront, laterallystraighttosupraantennalprominences (moderatelyelevatedobliqueridges), discslightlyimpressedneareyes. Epistomalsutureformingsubcircularimpression (muchlesspunctateinside), uppersurfacewithweaktactilesetae (intratemporalis) situatedpostero-mediallyofeacheye; eyesmediumsizedandslightly bulging, indorsalviewtemples (1.3× lengthofeye) alatiform, laterallyevenlyroundedand posteriorlyconstrictedtoformdistinctneckseparatedbyweakoccipitalfurrow. Anten- nomere 1 flattenedclub-shaped, stronglysculptured, segment 2 basallybroadsubtriangular, segment 3 incrassate, segment 4 transversediscoidwithrim, segments 5–11 withbasal dishes, articles 5–10 transverse (about 1.5–1.7× broaderthanlong). Headandpronotum withmostlyalveolatesculpture. Pronotumwithlateralportionexplanate, edgealatiform withsparseshortsetae; lateralmarginunevenlyarchedwithanumberofsmall, irregularly distributeddenticles, posteriorcornersnotincised, discmediallywithtwoweakparallel longitudinalridges, pronotalsidesweaklyimpressedaroundmiddle. Elytrawithoutmembranousposteriormargin. Elytralepipleuralridgeapparentasstrongersculpturelinesin lateralalatiformportions, discwithveryslighttonoimpressionincentre; shoulderswell developed, surfaceobscurelyfoveolateandinbetweenpuncturestorulose. Legsshort, pro- andmesotibiawithseveralspinuloserows, metatibiawithlongitudinalctenidiumofspi- nulesindistalhalf. Abdomenwithsidesmoderately/ratherarcuate, secondsegmentwith paratergitesbroadeningposteriorly (abdomenappearingconstrictedatbase), thoseofseg- mentsIII–VIIthin, mesalparatergitesbroad, posterioredgeoftergiteVIIwiththinpalisade fringe, medianpartofsterniteVIIasinFig. 230 , sterniteVIII ( Fig. 231 ), tergitesIX ( Fig. 232 ), X ( Fig. 233 ) andaedeagusasinFigs 234–236 , spermathecaasinFig. 274 . Remarks – Thelownumberofspecimensexamineddoesnotallowagood judgementofintraspecificvariability, butexternallythespeciescanbedifficult to separate from the closely related A. borneensis .
