Ecology:— Fairly common; terrestrial in humid forests, secondary forests, old plantations, along trails, and in disturbed areas, introduced and spreading, first collected in Bolivia in 1989, likely to become more abundant and widespread in Bolivia in the future; to 650 m . Notes:— Amblovenatum opulentum can be distinguished from the related and somewhat similar genera Christella and Cyclosorus by a combination of characters: proximal pinnae not reduced; costae abaxially lacking scales; blades adaxially glabrous between veins; blades abaxially along veins and costules with sulfur-yellow, sessile glands, especially toward segment tips and among sporangia.
