Rodriguez leg.; MPCN-Ict 85 . Identification. Body robust and elongated. The anterior frontal fontanelle reaches close to the base of the postoccipital process like a narrow groove. Upper jaw projected and lips thick. Maxillary barbels reaches the end of the operculum; the shortest mental and postmental barbels are inserted parallel to the edge of the jaw. Adipose fin, short. Pectoral-fin spine similar in length to dorsal-fin spine, with toothed internal edge. Caudal fin forked, with upper lobe narrower and longer than lower lobe. Anal fin emarginated. Uniform gray–black color, with purple reflections.
