Review of Anthobaris Hustache and description of a new species from Costa Rica (Coleoptera, Curculionidae, Baridinae) Author Prena, Jens text Zootaxa 2022 2022-11-25 5213 3 294 300 journal article 194618 10.11646/zootaxa.5213.3.7 f83e0080-dd55-4ceb-b231-0060c189b970 1175-5326 7360013 4E189EF0-8739-400F-9888-B4A41C606FA1 Anthobaris affabra (Boheman) , new combination ( Figs. 1–3 ) Centrinus affaber Boheman in Schönherr, 1844: 209 Anthobaris denticulata Hustache, 1951: 55 , new synonymy Diagnosis. Specimens of A. affabra are glabrous and lack the conspicuous setation of the other two species. Other morphological details with diagnostic value are the prominent subapical callosity on the elytron and the ventrodistally unmodified fifth tarsomere. Notes. Centrinus affaber was indexed without page number in Hustache (1938) but did not appear in the catalogue itself. Because of the confusion with B. affaber , the name has never been transferred formally to Anthobaris . The type specimen for C. affaber , an almost black, probably greasy female from the State of Minas Gerais ( Fig. 1 ), agrees morphologically with bluish specimens from the southerly adjacent state. Hustache probably had seen the type in preparation of the Junk Catalogue but did not associate the name with the bluish specimens described as A. denticulata . My well-preserved specimen from Cipó ( Fig. 3 ) shows the natural metallic luster of this species. I have seen only females. Baridius affaber is removed here from Anthobaris and transferred to Baridinae incertae sedis . Material examined. BRAZIL . Minas Gerais State , without collecting site, [ C.H.
