REMARKS.
The species was removed from the Bolivian cicada fauna in
Sanborn (2019a)
as no specimens could be attributed to
Bolivia
in the literature and no specimens were located from
Bolivia
.
Metcalf (1963a)
mistakenly included
Argentina
and
Bolivia
in the range of the species based on a misinterpretation of
Delétang (1923)
. Since that time, I have received images from Mateo Vargas Rojas (Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno) of a male collected at
Santa Cruz de la Sierra
,
Santa Cruz
,
Bolivia
(specimen deposited in the UAGRM entomology laboratory). The addition brings the known cicada diversity of
Bolivia
to 90 species (
Sanborn 2019a
;
2019c
;
2020a
;
Sanborn
et al
. 2020
).
DISTRIBUTION.
The species has been reported previously from
Brazil
,
Ecuador
,
French Guiana
,
Panama
, and
Peru
(
Metcalf 1963a
;
Sanborn 2011b
;
2013
;
2018
;
2020a
).
