Remarks. —
Orbits of all specimens are completely closed. Lateral margin of orbits feebly projected in small specimens (females and males), whilst significantly projected into a distinct carina, covering eyes at about 1/3 of its diameter in large ovigerous females.
Distribution. —
Known from the Galapagos Islands and the Gulf of California; shallow waters, associated with gorgonarians of the genus
Muricea
(see
Holthuis 1951
;
De Ridder 1980
;
Wicksten & Hendrickx 1985
).
