Sites: 110, 124, 125, 141, 179 ( Fig. 20 ). General distribution. West Asia: Cyprus , Turkey (Western-Taurus) (Attems 1947). Chorotype. East Mediterranean. Habitats. Pinus forests, mixed forests with Pinus and Quercus , ravines with Platanus , Quercus and Juniperus . Altitudinal range: 300–1340 m . Range of leg pairs recorded in Cyprus . 69 (3) and 75–77 (ƤƤ). Remarks. Thracophilus includes some nominal species hitherto known from scattered localities of Herzegovina , Bulgaria (Rodópi Mts.), Greece (Híos Is.), Turkey (Cilicia) and Palestine (Matic & Darabantu 1974; Stavropoulos & Matic 1990). These species have been mainly described on single specimens and, according to the Matic & Darabantu’s (1974) key, are distinguished on morphological characters whose variability is still poorly known, such as the number of the denticles on the labrum, the number of the teeth on the mandibular lamellae, the number of such lamellae, and the number of leg-bearing segments.
