[males and females] This ‘species’ represents females of A . lusitanica Damotte, Ramalho & Rey, 1988 and lusitanica is now considered a species of Fossocytheridea Swain & Brown, 1964 ( Tibert et al . 2003 ). In our opinion Dolocytheridea ? sp. 251 represents the males of A . lusitanica . A . lusitanica was described based on female specimens only and A . algarvensis is a synonym also based exclusively on females. See Dolocytheridea vendaensis below, a species based on males, and which is in fact A . lusitanica . Thus, all the species in the synonymy list above are F. lusitanica . For completeness of the record, 11 males are included in slide SMF Xe 23553 as supplementary material from the same sample as ‘ A . algarvensis ’.
