Jailolo , 460 m , 1°4.54’N , 127°26.85’E ( LMBC ) . Paratypes . 1 female ( A02428 , Fig. 3 ), Indonesia , Halmahera , road Weda to Tobaru , 190 m , 0°19.58’N , 127°49.68’E , 2 males (A02465–66), the same locality as the holotype ( LMBC ) . Diagnosis. Schizotrichalus halmaherensis is the only Halmaheran species of the genus and superficially resembles Eniclases moluccanus , possibly a member of the same local mimetic complex. S. halmaherensis differs from E. moluccanus in characters used for the generic definition: the presence of five pronotal areoles ( Figs 5–8 ), characteristic prolonged, slender phallus without extensive membranous sac ( Figs 10, 12 ) and the males of S. halmaherensis have flabellate antennae ( Figs 2–3, 13–14, 16 ). Papuan congeneric, S. nigrescens , differs from S. halmaherensis in serrate male antennae and uniform dark brown coloration ( Waterhouse 1879 , Bocak 2002 ). Description. Male. Body length 9.5–11.2 mm . Head, antennae and legs completely black, pronotum orange, almost half of elytra orange with sharp transition between brightly colored humeral half and black colored apex. Head small with hemispherically prominent eyes, their diameter 1.03 times interocular distance, antennomeres 3–10 flabellate with long lamellae ( Fig. 13 ). Pronotum trapezoidal, wider than long, with five areoles and two characteristic bulges on each of its lateral margins ( Figs 6–7 ). Elytra with nine costae at humeri, primary costa 1 short, secondary costae well-developed, elytral cells subquadrate, regular. Phallus long, very slender, mostly membranous, with cuplike apex, phallobase without visible membranous sac. Female. Antennae acutely serrate ( Fig. 14 ). Distribution and diversity. Halmahera Island. Measurements. BL 9.5–11.2 mm , EL 7.8–8.2 mm , WH 3.3–3.5 mm , PL 1.79–1.84 mm , PW 2.47–2.53 mm , Edist 0.74 mm , Ediam 0.76 mm . Etymology. The specific name refers to Halmahera, the type locality of this species.
